April 21, 2020

Our campaign needs your help. Next Tuesday, April 28th, is the deadline for Portland residents to donate to our campaign so that their contributions will be matched 6-to-1 by the public matching funds.

If you haven’t donated to our campaign yet, now is the time to do so!

It’s simple to help! Click the button below to contribute $10, $25, or $50, and that amount will automatically become $70, $175, or $350 due to the matching funds! On top of that, you can refund up to $50 that you donate to local political campaigns ($100 if married and filing jointly) thanks to Oregon’s Political Tax Credit! This is essentially free money for you to spend on your local democracy!

We need 50 more donations by next Tuesday to raise the additional $8,000 we need to stay competitive until the primary election. If each donor gives about an average of $25 (when combined with the matching funds), we’d be in great shape!

Each donation counts. Will you help us reach our goal?

You can follow our progress toward this goal by tracking how many donations we have on the Open & Accountable Elections website.

City Club of Portland’s Candidate Forum
Friday, April 24 from 12pm-1:30pm
Thanks to the advocacy of many of my supporters, I’ve been invited to participate in this event, which will be one of the best opportunities to watch me share my vision for Portland. The City Club will live-stream it on its website.

Portland Business Alliance’s Digital Candidate Q&A
Wednesday, April 29 from 11am-1pm
Watch me as I discuss the importance of supporting small businesses and workers in Portland, and what I believe should be our priorities for the local economy as we recover from the coronavirus pandemic. This event will be live-streamed on the Portland Business Alliance’s website.

Portland Metro People’s Coalition’s Candidates Forum
Thursday, April 30 from 6pm to 8pm
I’m excited to participate in this forum to discuss how we’ll continue to push for progressive policies throughout the coronavirus recovery and beyond. This event will be broadcast through Zoom (the meeting link is TBA, so check social media in the coming days or contact my campaign for info about how to watch it).

Julio Castilleja has been helping our campaign by speaking to voters on the phone. I originally met Julio when he volunteered for my campaign in 2018, and we’ve stayed in touch since then (we’re both PCPs for the Multnomah County Democrats). He says that he’s volunteering for our campaign because “Julia has proven time and time again that the voice of the community is what matters the most.” Julio has been a wonderful friend and supporter of mine throughout these past few years, and I really appreciate all that he’s done to help our campaign!

If you’d like to be considered for our Volunteer of the Week in future newsletters, you should 1) VOLUNTEER (click the button below to sign-up) and then, once you’ve volunteered, 2) send us a brief message about why you volunteer for Julia4PDX (and a photo of you volunteering would also be great!).

We’d love it if you’d show your support with a campaign sign!

Order one by clicking the link below, and we’ll install it at your residence for free while following public health guidelines.
