can hardly believe it, but the election is in 7 days!
As we head into the primary next week, I want to thank you for standing with me in our campaign to create a better Portland for everyone. We’re finishing this race strong thanks to supporters like you.
Town Hall with Special Guest Jo Ann Hardesty
Our first virtual town hall last week was so popular that people wanted more, so we’re going to do another one! This time, we’re honored to have Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty moderating the event! I hope you’ll join us this Wednesday from 5:30pm to 7pm.
If you have a question or want to propose a topic for us to discuss during the town hall, be sure to submit a question or comment to our campaign by email (email@example.com) or Facebook Messenger before the event to have a better chance that it will be brought up (you can also submit a question or comment during the event)!
The town hall will be broadcast on Zoom (CLICK HERE TO WATCH) – no download or account is necessary to participate.
Please invite your friends and family to watch!
FIND WHERE TO VOTE
If you prefer to vote at a ballot drop box or if you miss the deadline to vote by mail (this Thursday), these links from the Secretary of State and Multnomah County will show you where you can submit your ballot.
Now that we’re in the final week before the election, our need for volunteers is greater than ever before! If you have an hour or two that you could contribute, we could use your help in the following ways: Call voters to tell them about our campaignTag or post about our campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, or share one of our postsShare the list of candidates that you’re supporting with friends and family by social media or emailSubmit a letter-to-the-editor to a local newspaper about why I’m the right candidate for City Council. Our campaign will give you all of the training and support you may need to do any of these tasks. Click the “Volunteer” button below to let us know your interest!
VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK
Greg Burrill is a musician, philosopher, teacher, and an active member of the Portland Association of Teachers. He’s been a supporter of mine since I ran in 2018, and he’s also my neighbor, friend, and walking buddy. He’s made several hundred calls to voters, and his support has been immeasurable to our campaign. Greg explained that he’s supporting our campaign because “[Julia] is the only candidate who meets these three criteria: she will fight to reform Portland’s city government so that the City Council is elected by districts, she is an experienced environmental activist, and she has the knowledge and experience needed to run city bureaus until the form of government is changed so that bureaus are managed by professionals accountable to the Mayor and City Council.”
is Our City, Our Future –– and, together, I know we can make it better.
Stay safe and well,
